Marathon.

Our last day here in Marathon Key.
We’re all very depressed to have to go back to reality.

We took the boat out one last time.
The water is so blue.
and salty.
We came back for food and picked up Nana.
I was there and I wouldn’t believe it myself if I didn’t have the photo as proof,
but she dove in.
Nana, frail-little Nana dove into the ocean.
It was amazing.

We all broke into applause and when she came up she said, “Que?” like it was nothing.
[A photo of Margarita for Margarita, my only friend at work.]
We’re baking fish tacos for dinner and enjoying our last few moments in the keys.
  Dad’s Wahoo.
[Still celebrating].

On the boat for our final sunset.
Symbolically, of course.

Dad forgot the keys to the Tahoe,
so Aleksi and I had to run back to the house to pick'em up.
Harry: It's 20 blocks!
Anna: Fresh air will do you good.
Harry: But what about bullies?
Anna: Run fast.
We ran fast.

Green Hornet.
Despicable Me.
Both at Aleksi’s request.
And then some star gazing.

 Happy Birthday Harry.
[and Happy Birthday J.K. Rowling]
Goodnight Keys.

Mockingjay.

The Hunger Games are the greatest book series I’ve read since Harry Potter.
I’m serious.

They’re obviously not as magical, but I’m really into them.
Katniss.
Peeta.
Rue.
Prim.
I like that I know them now.
Besides swimming in the ocean, we’ve been reading.
And sometimes, we even read while we're swimming in the ocean.
I can't remember the last time I was so into a book series,
oh wait, yes I can.
Harry Potter.

Katniss, the girl on fire - the symbol of the rebellion - the mockingjay.
[Get it - the bird - it's supposed to be a mockingjay?]
Man, tough crowd.

Aleksi completed the entire series here and I just started the final book, Mockingjay.
Mitchell told me to read these years ago, when they were still coming out and I refused.
I was so excited to tell him that we all started reading them,
until in his email this week he wrote,
"And as for the Hunger Games. Those are SO old. And Book 3 was STUPID."
Wow brother.
So much for that.
I really do like them though,
granted I haven't finished the final book, but my hopes are high.

To take a break from our new obsession, we went to the Sunset Grill for dinner.
Juicy mahi-mahi with mango salsa.
and a Mango smoothie.
Mouth watering.

We've got some tricky light situations here.
I guess it's not so bad to use the flash after all.

 Aleksi?
Cute.
 Parents...[shiver]
 Some cool cats.
"Just me and dad" - Aleksi
I tried my best to not include her but Cassie gets what Cassie wants.

 Um.
Guess which one is me.

[It's Kind of a Funny Story]
Run.
Travel.
Swim.
Skip.
Yeah, I know it's lame, but, whatever.
Skip anyway.
Breathe...
Live.
