Sea Turtles.

Man,
I'm going to miss Florida.
Hallie and I went snorkeling at Kados and Coral Cove today.
It was her first time.
And I'm pretty sure she loved it.

The current at Kados was so strong,
but it was clearer than it's been in a while.
Coral Cove was clear too and really calm.
I always freak myself out,
swimming around dark caves and deep holes,
not Hallie.
She was swimming down in holes, looking in caves.
Fearless.
She's a lot braver than she looks.

We found the usual,
conchs,
sea slugs,
sea urchins,
sea cucumbers,
etc.
We made the sea slug ink, which was cool,
but while we were walking,
we found quite a depressing sight.
"Hallie,
oh my gosh Hallie - come here!"

Five sad, dead baby sea turtles.
Dead
One albino, and four regulars.
So tiny.
So young.
It was awful.
We found an appropriate spot in the sand,
and buried them.
Clearly, one of us wasn't so sad about finding helpless baby sea turtles.
