We’re here. 

Summer family vacation. 

 This year we’ve rented a little house right along a canal in Marathon Key.

Nana and Bentley are our guests this trip, 

and we’re very excited to have them both.

It’s a bit of a handful because we can’t leave either of them home alone

because they’ll get into all sorts of trouble without supervision.

Kids these days. 

 [Nana watches her soap operas five times a day at home, 

why would we have expected anything less in the keys?]

 We’re staying at a rather spacious cottage; 

Two bedrooms and me on the couch.

Even Bentley gets a bed, you see where I rank on the favorites now. 

I slept on the couch with a too small blanket and Bentley’s dog bed as a pillow? Really? 

We’ll be changing things up tonight, no worries. 

 Did I mention there’s no internet, yeah that’s kind of a bummer. 

And I’ll be using my film underwater camera for all my underwater photos,

still haven't worked that one out yet.

But they’ll be cool, I can feel it in my bones. 

 

 But I’m especially excited for some Keys adventures. 

We’ve already gone snorkeling and I found an enormous bright red star fish. 

It looked so beautiful against the blue, blue ocean. 

 

 “No two sunsets are the same.” 

That’s the momspiration for the night. 

So we’ll be out here each night to see if it’s true.
