La la la Lauren.

Time flies.
No, really.
How has it been seven months since Lauren Johnson was a missionary in the Gainesville branch?
Mind blowing.
She lives in Utah,
and I was able to see her today.
It feels like no time has passed at all.

She took me on a five star tour of Provo,
I saw her house, her elementary school, her middle school, and a glimpse of her high school.
We drove past the town mechanic, I met some of her friends, and we stopped for some shaved ice.
Orange creamcicle with ice cream on the bottom.
Then we stopped at Provo Cemetery.
Yes, the cemetery.

I'm not exactly sure why,
but I've always wanted to take photos in a cemetery.
I told Lauren this,
and it was right there.
It just kind of happened.
Plus, how could I have expected to get the full city experience without visiting
all places it has to offer?

Many of the gravestone sculptures were very elegant and detailed.
Of all, this one was my favorite:
Is it bad that it's funny to me?
Grandma.

Seeing as how this man was alive during the 1800s and living in Utah,
he was most likely LDS.
And clearly a polygamist.
I think this would be a good time to quote the previous President of the Church.
Gorden B. Hinckley said,
"In this dispensation, the Lord commanded some of the early Saints to practice plural marriage. The Prophet Joseph Smith and those closest to him, including Brigham Young and Heber C. Kimball, were challenged by this command, but they obeyed it. Church leaders regulated the practice. Those entering into it had to be authorized to do so, and the marriages had to be performed through the sealing power of the priesthood. In 1890, President Wilford Woodruff received a revelation that the leaders of the Church should cease teaching the practice of plural marriage. The Lord’s law of marriage is monogamy unless he commands otherwise to help establish the House of Israel."
So yes, at one point in time polygamy was practiced.
However, it is no longer practiced and has not been since 1890.

I know,
Lauren's a great photographer.
Who would've thought seven months ago,
that Lauren and I would've kept in touch all this time,
that I'd get a tour of her life, and even meet her family.
Woah.

My eyes look weird.
