KaraNOke

 Applebee's.
Tuesday night.
Karaoke.
Me, Aleksi, Laura, and Cortney.

We came prepared to sing,
or rather, I came prepared to sing and had to
bribe and convince Cortney to sing a duet with me.
Aleksi and Laura made it clear that tonight was not their night,
I knew if Cortney drank enough I could get her up there.
Water that is.
Drank enough water.

"We have about a 45 minute wait and only an hour left, so if you'd like to sing - sign up now."
"Cortney we have to do this!"
"Max, I can't!"
*We sign up*
"Why did we do that?"
"I hate you."
"I'm going to vomit."
We ordered our food,
but Cortney and I didn't enjoy it too much.
I lost my appetite, I was so nervous.
We decided to sing the karaoke classic "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey.
We were having a hurricane of mixed emotions.
One moment we were sickly nervous, about to vom
and the next we were practicing the notes and singing together, pumped and ready.
Closer and closer we felt we were getting,
when in fact we weren't getting closer at all.
We waited for over an hour to sing,
not knowing we never would.
Story of our lives, right.
Karaoke ended without us.
We must've been within the next two groups to go,
oh well.
All that psyching ourselves out for nothing.
Wrong.
We don't give in so easily,
it would've been pointless to waste all that prep and nervous anticipation.
So in the safety of our car,
we got our Journey, Glee, and Perry on.
We've all committed to singing actual karaoke next Tuesday.
We'll see how this one turns out.

  1. Karaoke in Applebee's is not so bad. well, we did it here in Gville when everyone is getting drunk(i don't think that is a problem in Provo)..i almost threw up when it was my turn to sing.
