It's Good to Be King

Snorkeling competition.
Kados bridge.
 Me versus Sara.

Best out of three.
First round - find the most unique object.
Alexa called us off and the competition began.
Sara cheated though, she jumped during "ive" in "dive" while Alexa was shouting,
"Snorkelers - grab your snorkels - get set - dive!"

If Sara won, I had to help her paint her graduation cap
and if I won, Sara had to pay for my "Anne's Italian Ice" after we snorkeled.
The stakes were high.
Round one had to be completed in ten minutes.
I was down to the last two and I still had nothing,
finally - at the last second - I saw something glittering on the ocean floor.

I found this fish weight connected to a rusted hook, it was actually pretty cool.
Sara found several items - choosing her favorite for the competition,
she chose a beer bottle cap that said "It's good to be king" on the top inside.
Alexa, our judge, had a tough time deciding.
However, the results of round one:
Max: 1
Sara: 0

Round 2:
Unlimited time to find the most interesting living creature.
A little more challenging, but I had the perfect winning creature in mind.
Every time we come we find conchs crawling over by the rocks,
as I was swimming over to see if I could find one - I came across a peculiar object:
an ugly - fat - warty sea cucumber.

"Hold your hand out and I'll flip it into your hand."
"No, that thing is sick."
"Do it!"
"Ahhh - this is so nasty."
The texture of that cucumber outside the water was cringe worthy.
It looked like it would be slimy and smooth,
quite the contrary - it was rough, dry, and had a thick, hard layer of skin.

Nasty.
Results of round 2:
Max: 2
Sara: 0
Sara brought back the outside of a strawberry?
So - I won!

We went to Anne's Italian Ice afterwards,
Best $1.30 I've ever saved.

A challenge is a challenge.
