Ghost House No More

One year ago, we discovered the Ghost House.

We were in Utah, after our road trip and Aleksi and Cortney were house shopping
for a place to live.
We had been searching all day when we came across this little haunting.
With  no keys to get inside and desperate to see what the inside contained,
we broke in.

Even with the creepy abandoned child swing in the backyard,
the over grown hedges - clearly covering up a murder,
and the cellar - the possible murder site for the nameless child who obviously lived her and never left,
Aleksi and Cortney fell in love.
However, after a year of love and hard work,
I am here to say this Ghost House is the Ghost House no more.

Not so scary anymore.
It's quite nice, actually.
I'm only reminded of the little child who haunts these grounds when I sit alone in the cellar at night.
But I try not to do that too often,
so we're good.

Looks so much better, right?
Their location is superb;
Last house on the street, surrounded by snow capped mountains, in the heart of Provo.

Aleksi left for work for a little bit.
Cassie and I sat around the house - watching Friends and waiting for Cortney to come home.
We didn't get to see her last night when we came in because she was sleeping.
She's like the older sister that I already have,
so a second older sister.
We go way back.

Dinner at Jdawgs,
only the best hot dogs in town.
The 34 year old working there told Cassie she has a beautiful smile.
uh, that's nice - but sick.
Hit on someone your own age, you pig.

After it got dark we, Cortney and Gavin
drove up to Sundance canyon.
We traveled all the way out there, parked the car, crossed two rivers, hiked to a meadow,
set up a few blankets and sat down to watch E.T. on Aleksi's laptop.
"Do you guys think they're bears here?"
"uh...yes."

It only took a few minutes for the fear to set in.
"They can sense your fear and it makes them hungry"
"Seriously, stop."
"Shine the flashlight on the bushes"
"Uh, I'd rather not know if somethings around."
"Whaddo we even do if we see one?"
"Bang pots and pans."
"Ok, that's really not helpful."
"Oh my gosh."
"Let's go back to the car."

Yes, we returned to the car shortly after we settled in.
I mean, it's fine.
Aleksi kept saying, "Fine, if we stay - and something happens, it's on you."
So - we left.
But we did rent M. Night Shayamalan's "Devil"
It was suspenseful, very jumpy, and kept you guessing.
I guess that's typical of M. Night.

"Stop saying that!"
