Let's Pretend We're Runners.

Woke up at the butt crack of dawn to run.
Just the way I like to spend my weekend mornings.

 Reppin' our schools.
We're both really dedicated and love going.

It was the MorseLife first annual 5k.
All proceeds and donations went to the Stroke of Hope Club,
supporting stroke victors and caregivers.
Remember that flier I made months ago - it was for this.

My mom told me that there was going to be basically no one in my age group,
so I should just run and could easily win a medal.
Um. I haven't ran since my 15k
and it showed.
I was dying.
Forget the medal - I just wanted to finish the race.

Yeah, I know.
That was my time,
A for effort, right.
I made sure to pass the CEO of Morse during that final stretch;
[man in the red]
he held up the start of the race because he was running late and wanted to run.
Not classy.

 Then came the awards.
Boys 15-19 third place winner was...
[drum roll please]
Trust me, I didn't expect it either.
But I got a medal?!
Mom was right, go figure.

First running medal.
So pathetic yet so proud.
