What do you mean you don't celebrate Melissa Day?
Who are you anyway?
Melissa day is simply the day you celebrate Melissa;
She bakes - you eat.
She poses - you photograph.
She wants to go somewhere - you take her.
She says jump - you ask how high.
It's her day, okay.
On this particular abnormally windy Saturday,
we decided it was time for us to celebrate Melissa.
So Cynthia, Colton and I drove up to Tallanasty - excuse me - Tallahassee to see her.
[and her roommate Rachel too, of course]
The drive was great - at least for me, not driving is the best.
However, I was offended when Cynthia made me turn off the Beatles because she
said all of their songs sound the same.
Offense taken.
Upon our arrival, I was re-introduced slash introduced to Melissa's cats.
I'm really bad with names, so naturally I don't remember any of their names,
but I'll make them up like I did then.
Actually, the only important one is "Chucabra" with the green eyes
and black and brown coat in the photo above,
she's the little psycho who punctured me as I was actually starting to give cats a chance.
Nope, she saw right through me,
I'm forever a dog person.
"Micco" was nice though - very photogenic,
so we played while Melissa and Cynthia prepared meals for the celebratory picnic.
Rachel was working and we didn't want her to miss the Melissa day feast,
so - as requested by Melissa - we went to the local Art Show.
The show was very cool, like Arts Fest in Downtown Stuart.
At one of the Kiosk's a man was selling his pottery - all of which was very good -
too good for me to buy it and tell everyone I made it.
So I didn't,
I thought about it though.
We made it back to Melissa's home and finished the preparations for the picnic.
Cynthia made a fabulous salad, but then knocked the top layer into the sink on accident.
It was tragic.
The leaves only fell into soapy water - what's the worst that could've happened? Diarrhea?
Like we haven't all experienced that before.
Model that salad!
Melissa and Rachel's house was photo ready,
I just felt like we could've had a photo shoot right there.
Everything was so unique and trendy.
Crookshanks loved sitting in the sun on the table.
Too bad he couldn't come on the picnic with us.
He was a good cat - so dog-like.
Even though it was her day, Melissa still made most of the food and provided the drinks.
Root beer. Black cherry soda. Grape Soda.
Some - doughy, deliciously seasoned - vegan dish.
Blueberry and strawberry pie.
Crackers. Grapefruit.
and Cynthia's salad.
I know right - Melissa day rocks.
Either Tallahassee is a really nice area or it was just a really good day,
because being outside we so nice,
way nicer than Gainesville.
The food was very tasty,
never thought being a vegan could taste so good,
but I don't know how she does it - I certainly could not live without milk.
or chocolate chip cookies.
or breaded steak.
or --- I just couldn't do it, okay!
After Colton started discussing the different species of birds,
we decided it was time to go.
A successful picnic.
Back at Melissa and Rachel's we did the dishes
[we as in Cynthia],
I may or may not have been dancing,
and then we watched "Life as We Know It"
which was actually a funny slash well played movie
[I only say that because apparently when it came out in theaters, Cynthia asked me to go
see it with her and I said no --- all of which I do not remember]
And then Melissa day ended,
and I'm back in awesome Gainesville.
Except, I'm actually trying to enjoy this last week.
Which is really difficult for me.
Goodbye Tidbit.
See you next time.
[Psychhh! the scratching little brat.]
Melissa made a video of our day,
it's really good, just pick your favorite song that's longer than 4 minutes and play it while you listen,
Melissa made a video of our day,
it's really good, just pick your favorite song that's longer than 4 minutes and play it while you listen,
because there's no music.

Hahaha...I can't believe that picture of me blowing in the wind actually worked.
ReplyDeleteI also think it's hilarious that you just keep giving all of the cats new made-up names. That was fun, Max! Let's be friends some more.
cats. love. so cute.
ReplyDeleteHaha, the bird discussing thing is such a Chris move. Those cats are seriously adorable, too. Even if they aren't as awesome as Chesney (obviously).
