Last night we had the Mejia's over for dinner and family home evening. 
Their mom is going through surgery and we hope and pray that she'll remain
healthy and happy.

 My mom taught us her three A's to Awesome. 

Attitude
Awareness and
Authenticity. 
If you have a good outlook on life, you have integrity, and you're honest with yourself,
you'll succeed. 
[or so she said -- fingers crossed, right?]

My favorite dessert. 
I mean, it doesn't get better than that.

Joan Hertzig, a lady in my home ward is a five star artist 
and I had no idea. 
In this weekend of dinner fiestas, we had her over and 
she was telling me all about how she made this piece that won 
first place in it's category and about all the other art works she's created. 

She let me come over and see some of her work. 
Amazing. 
She carves gourds [which is a vegetable] and then paints on them. 
It really is quite unique art.
