Beach on my Mind.

I'm home and I couldn't be happier.
I left right after class and was joined
on my car ride home by the ahh-mazing Annie.
She was fully exposed to the famous Glee jam sesh
and I know she enjoyed it.

Highlight of the ride back:
[Annie was going through my cds - which are in a case mixed with my movies]
She reached the part where the cds ended and movies began,
and started laughing pointing at the movie "Signs."
Not understanding that I had movies mixed in
she said,
"What's the soundtrack like? white noise and alien's talking?"
Merp. Derp. Herp.
Guess you had to be there.
I know, I've been told I'm a great story teller.

I've had the beach on my mind since winter break,
which feels like a lot longer ago than it actually was.
I've been having withdrawals - a deep necessity to swim in the salty ocean water
and lay on the sandy shore.
I've also had this desire to take Chesney to the beach.
So - I did both today.
For real, she's such a good dog.

It started out as I had planned,
I came home - walked all the dogs - and then loaded Chesney into the Jeep.
The Jeep.
Parker.
I've never been so mad at a car.
We were driving fine until about half way to the beach,
all these weird vibrations and clanking sounds started emerging from under the hood.
Parker started jerking and the engine sounded like it was dying.
"Oculus Reparo!"
It was useless.
I couldn't go over 30 mph.
I had to pull over into a turning lane and let the parade of cars I had behind me - pass.
Driving up the draw bridge I was certain Parker was just going to die at the top,
we were going a whopping 10 mph.
Somehow - we made it to the beach - I parked Parker
and called my parents to figure out what-the-H was a matter with him.

Turns out Parker's been having tons of problems and just yesterday
my dad had to be towed home because the engine wouldn't start.
In my defense - no one told me.

I called Cassie to come pick us up -
and my parents called a friend to tow Parker home.
Vomit, right?
Chesney enjoyed the beach, she was such a good girl.
She didn't bark at anyone and just followed me around.
[don't worry, when I saw people coming I put the leash on her as precaution]
When I went in the water to swim -
she would go as far as she could, stand and watch.
Best dog ever.

Smile Ches.

It was a perfect way to start the weekend.
[minus the Parker fiasco]
It was a perfect beach day.
Home feels beautiful.
