Semester One: Check.

Today, I officially completed my first semester of college.
I survived.
It's been a long - stressful - road.
But I've learned more about myself and my capacities in this time, than ever before.
Looking back, I don't think I would have done it any other way,
yes it could have been easier - or more fun - with friends, or less classes
But then - it wouldn't have been half as interesting.

Though most of my days were dark - and I hoped day after day that I would fall off the curb and get hit by a bus - or get pushed into a street with oncoming traffic - or at the very least, find out Harry Potter is actually real and attending UF - there were a few times that I actually enjoyed being here.
A few, very few.

1. All the weekends I left G-ville and went to the Sniders
[ok that doesn't count - but I still loved all those times this semester]
2. The first time Chris and I went to the stadium to run stadiums. We planned on doing at least six but called it off after three. It was more exhausting than we thought.
3. When Kate, Chris, Sean and I watched "The Haunting in Connecticut" and then I had to walk to my car alone, drive home alone, park the car alone, and walk back to my dorm alone - at three in the morning. To say - I was scared - would be an understatement. I could see silhouette's of murderers in the woods - everyone was watching me - and chasing me. Needless to say, I didn't walk back from parking my car, I ran - more like sprinted - back to my dorm.
4. The night Kate and I didn't want to study [one of very, very many] - or do homework - and had nothing else to do. We walked around campus talking - and the sprinklers were on - and we were about to run through them until we found a dry a path, but we took pics as if we jumped through them.

5. When Kate and I pulled an all-nighter - not one of the most fun ones - but a good memory nevertheless.
I think the best part of it was - that it paid off - I got a B on my psych mid-term. Take that Trunchbull.
6.When Chris and Kate were in a major fight [long story - Military Ball - ring a bell] and I kept thinking to myself how much they reminded me of Ron and Hermione - which meant I was Harry - so I thought it was funny.
"I'm not an owl!"
7. Taking turns skipping Georgraphy with Chris and Kate and Zach - wait - he never went.
8. After making my Halloween costume with Cynthia - waiting for her "Progressive" to dry - dancing and telling her how much I wanted to be famous [I feel like this one happened a lot]
 9. Teaching Aleksi how to skype at Eva's.

"Hey lover - aren't you going to introduce me?"
10. Skyping with Rachel, Cassie, and Sara

11. When Chris and I were walking to eat and an old lady stopped us and asked for directions to the bookstore. Chris had a map in his book bag [?] - and we explained where to go. We ate. After we left, Chris was riding his bike ahead of me and turned around and started laughing - the old lady was crossing the street frantically, going the complete opposite direction. You just had to be there.
12. The Halloween Dance - dressing like a Zombie - and staring at everyone from my building to my car.
13. Every Tuesday night - with Cynthia, Brittany and Kate - watching and singing to Glee.

14. Tuesday November 30th - after a good episode of Glee - me Kate and Cynthia danced like we've never danced before - and then Nichelle and Jared came over and made us grapefruit shots - and DANG those things really loosen you up! ahah - next thing I knew, Cynthia was pressuring me to jump off her balcony onto her couch - and I did. It was so scary! My palms were super sweaty - but it was so much fun.
[Grapefruit shots = grapefruit juice, crushed ice, and sugar] --- jeez.
"You're names are Clark and Darla?!"

15. When Chris, Valerie and I met at the Reitz for dinner - and then played hide and go seek in the building. And when it was Val's turn to be it - she left while me and Chris hid. [typical - right?]
16. When Chris and I were waiting at a bus stop after eating - in the middle of conversation he shouted,
''My Tooth!" - jumped up and started searching his pockets - he found it - it was in his pocket - there was a girl waiting with us, she didn't even turn around - but I know she thought Chris was a psycho.
17. When Kate Chris and I went to Erin [and Marissa's] Dancing Gator's "Where Amazing Happens" performance. It was the best dancing gators performance I've ever been to - no doubt - Erin and Marissa were good - and they had cool costumes and could dance - but some of these dancers - aye - it was interesting - to say the least.
"I'd rather see you up there shaken' that thang"

 18. Today.
I'M DONE!
No more psych.
No more Trunchbull
No more Math.
NO MORE MATH!
I can't express the joy I feel right now.

I've definitely learned a lot this semester.
I HATE History of American Religion.
like h.a.t.e. it.
I really dislike studying.
Math is not for me.
[I still don't know what "nekked numbers" are]
No wonder the Trunchbull teaches psychology - she's psycho!
Taking geography was the best choice of the entire semester
and that
true friends are difficult to find, but when you do find them  - don't let them go.
"Books! And cleverness! There are more important things--friendship and bravery."
- Ms. Hermione Granger

"There are all kinds of courage, it takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends"
- Headmaster Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore.
I love you guys.
Thank you for getting me through.

  1. I could not stop laughing remembering some of these things! Even though classes sucked, we still had lots of good memories (and lots of Mochi, back when we still had money to pay for it). Next semester's going to be even better! Oh, and my favorite was about when me and Chris were fighting HAHAHA. We totally should've been in the HP movies.

  2. Max, you are amazing. Be proud of your accomplishments, and remember these days. A lot of college involves suckage, but a lot involves growing and friends and love. And that's why people say college was the time of their lives. It begins the refining fire of your character.

Love love love you! Enjoy home and family and puppies and happiness.
