Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I

HPatDH PI

I've waited
all day
all week
this entire month
since the last movie
for today.

I could not concentrate - all day.
There was only one thing on my mind.
HARRY POTTER.

The 7th Harry Potter Movie came out tonight and
oh.my.gosh.
I was blown away.
That movie met all of my expectations.
I am ecstatic.
Usually I get REALLY pumped for the movie - like super excited and I
leave really depressed because they left so much out.
But this movie,
oh my gosh,
 this movie was SO good.

I skipped my first class this morning so that I would be able to get at least 10 hours of sleep and have energy for the all-nighter I planned on pulling.
Then at 3 - I decided to skip my second and last class for the day because I just couldn't concentrate.
All I could think about was Harry, Ron, and Hermione and the adventure they were about to embark on.
Gosh, I love HP.

[blurry = manual focus - oops! - I wish photos moved like in Harry Potter]
This was the plan for the evening.
Go to library, study psych with Christina [friend in psych class] then promptly at 6:45 - leave - go to Christina's make copies of the notes we took - leave - meet Kate at the car at 6:55 - leave - go to Rachel's apartment - watch Harry Potter 6 with her, Kate, and Brooke [it's prep for movie 7 - not "knowledge" prep - I already know exactly whats going to happen - but "mood" prep] then - leave - promptly at 9:35 to pick Alexa, Chris, and Katie up.
As my life usually goes - not according to plan - I was a little late leaving the library - so you could imagine that it put everything else off of schedule.

We ended up getting to the theater only 15 minutes later than we had anticpated [not too bad]
But we quickly got our spots in line - and waited.
and waited.
We were all so incredibly excited.

This lady asked us to donate blood and said we would get this awesome HP shirt for doing it.
Now, I'm all for knocking out two birds with one stone.
I could save three lives AND watch Harry Potter all in one night.
so we [me alexa and some girl we just met] agreed.
Kate, Katie and Chris all would have but they just recently gave blood.
Oh well.
No HP shirts for you.

Some other lady told us that we could sign up, go back and talk with our friends, and then come back and resume our spots in the blood line.
Liar.
We signed up, went to talk with our wizard friends, and then went back to the blood line - and lost our spot.
So we waited - and waited.
and time got closer and closer and the movie line got longer and longer and moved on and on.
so.
I panicked.
I couldn't risk not being in the movie theater when the movie started.
So I pulled out.
I'm sorry three lives - I promise I'll donate next time - I will - don't make me feel bad.
Alexa stayed.

We met the people,in the photos below - in line with us - they were behind us - and when Alexa and I went to the blood line - yellow scarf girl talked her way to us [meaning she talked her way to the front of the line] and went in front of us.
what.a.brat.
we.gonna.find.you.
but then she decided not to give blood anyway - and we never saw her again
"all was well."

I went back in the line with my wizards - went in the theater and claimed our seats.
Alexa came into the theater only minutes before the movie started - and I was after her in the blood line - so in my defense - I would not have made it back in time - which would have been devastating and I probably would have died.
But Alexa's shirt is really cool.

Harry Potter, Katie Bell, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, and that's Millicent Bulstrode in the corner.
and FINALLY after hours and days and weeks of anticipation and anxiety,
the movie started.
Things I loved [like l.o.v.e.d.]
*Spoiler Alert*
1. Seeing the Warner Brother Symbol show up and hearing the theater go completely silent.
[I know this isn't the symbol - but it appeared before this scene - geez]

2. The beginning - best beginning ever - I love Hermione - ahhh - I love Emma Watson too. [When she had to put the 'Obliviate' spell on her parents - ohmygosh - I wanted to be there with her.]
3. Dobby - best.character.ever. - from start to finish - I loved him. And I came to the theater hoping that I would be able to hear him say, "Dobby has come to save Mr. Potter sir" - and I did! I was so stoaked to hear him say it - and then when he died - I'm not going to lie - tears were shed. I mean - that's my boy, he saved everyone - he saved Hermione - I owe him.

4. When Harry and Hermione were in the tent dancing [during the time that Ron left] I just love this part - I love the friendship between Harry and Hermione [and I always wanted them to end up together - but I'm happy with the way JK Rowling made things end also]
5. It was so accurate.  I loved it. I LOVED it. I have never left the movie theater feeling so happy about a HP film. I'm ecstatic. It was amazing.
6. I sometimes feel like my friendship with Kate and Chris is like the friendship between Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Just like them - we have our days - our dumb arguments - but when push comes to shove - we're there for each other. I like always having Won-won and Hermninny to turn to.
oh, and I'm just glad that I'm the Chosen One [aka Harry Potter] in the relationship.

I mean really?
Almost identical - personalities and all.
I could literally go on and on.
[of course there were parts that I would have loved to see - Kreacher's Tale - Tonk's parents - the real way the snatchers found them]
But it was extremely well made - and I am incredibly pleased.

Afterwards - Alexa wanted to go to IHOP - so we do what she says - or else.
Apparently it's the place to be for classy dressed women and well to do men because they were ALL there.
and they were all walking right up - to the front of the line.
So we left.
and went to Steak and Shake and discussed the movie.

I want to go see it again.
I am so pleased with it.
on the OWL grading scale - I'd give it an "O" - no question.
OUTSTANDING.

I wrote a Midnight Review for the TC Palm.
I know, I'm obsessed.
"Phenomenal! Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I was the greatest Harry Potter film to date. Compared to past films, this one was, in my opinion, the most accurate. Naturally, the producers had to cut bits and pieces out, but unlike the other films, they kept the important elements of the plot line. I recommend it to any Harry Potter fan! Long live Potter!"

And just in case anyone was wondering.
I went today [the next day] and gave blood.
I got my free HP shirt.

And now...
I CANNOT wait for July.
HPatDH Part 2!

long live Harry Potter.
[and Dobby]
[and Hermione]
