Zombie Prom Prep

As usual, Intro to Health Professions was b-o-r-i-n-g today.
and what do we during boring lectures?
That's right - we doodle.

The Institute's annual "Boo" Halloween Dance is this Friday night.
and I asked Kate to go with me.
[she said yes]
It took us some time to think of what we should dress as.
but after much contemplation, we've decided.
[and I'd like to thank my older siblings - Aleksi and Mitchell- for the idea]
Last year the theme for "Boo" was "Zombie Prom", so everyone dressed like a Zombie going to Prom.
I thought it was the coolest idea ever and am super jealous I never got to dress like that.

So we're being Zombies - like old fashioned - dead- zombies.
and I am ecstatic.

In Intro - I doodled my costume.
[yes, it was that boring]

I want:
1. Face painted white - dark black shadows painted around the eyes
2. Black triangle nose
3. Suit jacket - torn
4. Pants - ripped and dirty - as if I just walked out of my grave
5. Mouth painted like it was sown shut.
 6. Not sure about the hair yet. Parted down the middle? aha.

After class, Kate and I went costume shopping.
and - oh boy - I've never had so much fun at Goodwill.
I found a perfect suit jacket [to ruin] and pants that fit around my waist but were much too short - which again is perfect because now I don't feel bad ruining them.
and Kate found a perfectly hideous dress.
Perfectly. Hideous.

She had such a selection!
I wanted her to get a rain forest designed moo-moo, but she insisted on the hot pink dress,
Yes, I know it looks like a blouse with a skirt in matching material, but that's why the outfit is so perfect,
it's deceiving because it's actually all one piece.
How cool is that?!

You just wait.

After shopping, we attended "Halloween at Hogwarts" - an event provided by one of the clubs.
It was fun,
if you like getting a slice of cake smaller than your fist
or waiting in 45 minute lines to get some genuine art drawn on your arms.
at least we got to make candles - because I don't know about you - but that's the one thing I'm envious about the wizarding world - they can make candles - they did that right?

Yes...my candle is yellow, white, and black - which are unfortunately the colors of the Hufflepuff house,
but I'm not a pretender - my chocolate frog card from HP world was Helga Hufflepuff - which undoubtedly means - I'm a Hufflepuff.
a reject.
a leftover.
friendly - but unimportant.
[but I would choose Hufflepuff over being a squib any day- aka Cassie]

I met up with my friends Marissa and Katie [Kate had to leave because someone fed her an ear wax flavored Every Flavor bean]. Good thing too - because after all the fun events - they had trivia [that's the real reason I came, to represent the Hufflepuff House and prove we're not a bunch of duffers]
I would just like to take a moment to publicly admire my state-of-the-art drawn Dark Mark.

um? is this for real?
Yes.

and now compare that to Marissa's.

Night and day people.
Night and day.

Trivia was pretty difficult.
I mean, naturally - with Katie and I together [Marissa was no help whatsoever] - we were able to get most of the answers but the questions were pretty specific.

Questions I should have know but we're pretty sure we got wrong:
1. In movie 5, the script writers were planning on cutting a certain character out - but JK Rowling advised them not to because that character was very important in book 7, who was the character?
Me: Neville?
Katie: Malfoy?
Marissa: [blank]

 Answer: Kreacher
UGH!
How could I have forgotten!

2. When is Neville Longbottom's birthday
Our answer: July 31st - the same as Harry's?
Nope - answer - July 30th.

3. Name the seven Defense Against the Dark Arts Teachers in chronological order. [don't worry we got this one right]
1. Professor Quirrell
2. Professor Lockhart
3. Professor Lupin
4. Professor Moody
5. Professor Umbridge
6. Professor Snape
7. Professor Carrow

We lost.
Well, we didn't win
so we lost.

Moaning Myrtle and Draco Malfoy made an appearence.

Harry Potter World was better - in case that was even a question on anyone's mind.

  1. You're super cute for bringing a date, I miss BOO. Not that I had anything resembling any sort of success in the boy arena in Gainesville, but BOO dances were my favorites...I think. Maybe I made that up since I blocked out a good portion of my life in Gainesville 4th....

    achem.

And, in the Hogwarts of my heart, you aren't a leftover! And besides, Hufflepuffs are...good at making friends...
