If i had to describe today in one word, i would call it - unforgettable.
Today was my last trip to the Kados Bridge and Coral Cove before i leave for college. I know i can always come back on break, but there's something about me that will change when i go to college, it just won't be the same. I think it's just the fact that i'll come back a college student - and that kind of freaks me out.
| Coral Cove at it's finest |
Honestly, today was the best it's been for me. The water was so clear and so blue, the water was like glass, and it wasn't too cold or too warm, i absolutely loved it. Coral Cove is an awesome spot for snorkeling, which is mostly why we come.
Today, Mitch, Cassie, Kelly, Hannah, Chris and I came out -- it was a blast. While snorkeling Chris found a nurse shark, basically held onto it's tail, and let it pull him around. We found tons of sea urchins and shells, which are always cool to hold.
Also, one of our favorite things to do [mostly Chris's] is to play in the rocks, slightly dangerous, but totally worth it? I'm not sure, it's scary though.
While i was taking photos [about where Mitchell is standing in the photo above] i had one of my closest "ialmostjustruinedmycamera" moments. I was walking on the rocks and i slipped and fell [first of all embarrassing] but i held my camera above my head. Kelly told me my face expression was priceless, but i would rather break an arm then let my camera go under the water. Chris laughed, Mitchell got mad at me, and i put my camera away for a bit. Nothing happend it was just a really really close call.
We discovered today that Cassie, Chris and Kelly all have secret talents
Cassie can control anyone and everyone and make them do whatever she wants.
"get me that snorkel"
"give me your change"
"let me have a sip of that"
No one, and i mean no one, dares to contradict her, or say no to her commands. What she says goes.
Chris can find a flaw in anyone. No matter how self confident you are, he can make you feel really bad about yourself. But it's ok because at least he "looks good now" <-- direct quote.
Kelly has the wonderful talent of capturing that slight moment when you look most unflattering, like when you're in between a blink or when you're chewing, she can photograph you in ways you never imagined possible.
We left Coral Cove and drove in Mitchell's truck to the Kados Bridge. It's easily on my top ten favorite places on the earth. I get there and i never want to leave, it's not that it's the most beautiful place ever [you can snorkel and there are some cool things to see] but there have been so many good times and awesome memories made there that it's just become important to me.
At Kados, we snorkeled and swam, the current was so strong it was really more of a workout trying to get from one place to another. Then, when Cassie started to get hungry everyone obeyed and we left to go get lunch. At taco bell [i know right, livin' the life] we ran into Kate and her mom, who had just left the spa, how supreme.
We met at Lunas, for dinner, which is where Kate, Kelly, Chris and i joke that our friendship began - because it was one of the first places we went as friends. So we got Luna's famous pizza and garlic knots, walked the docks and then went to Hoffmans [much to my dismay - i prefer Kilwins] and got ice cream. And for the record Kilwin's "Superman" flavor ice-cream is much better than Hoffman's, but it was good that we went because now we know for next time.
Afterwards, we met at our friend Hallie's house to play board games and enjoy our last moments before college together. We played Cranium Cadoo [me and kelly won a game - not bragging, just informing] and then Scattergories, which was really fun. [Photos in downtown taken by Kelly L.]
I have mixed feelings about leaving, but i'm grateful for days like today that give the summer a sense of closure, like it's ok to move forward because i'm happy with the way it's ending.
Easily one of the best days of the summer.

1. I'm sad I missed out
ReplyDelete2. I love Christopher's direct quote
3. We have talents, we juts don't know what they are yet
4. I won Scattergories (not bragging, just saying)
I wish I could like Kate's comment.
